A/Prof Colin Tang is a Radiation Oncologist with subspecialty interests in stereotactic radiation for prostate, lung, liver, pancreas and secondary brain cancer. He received his Radiation Oncology specialist qualification in 2005 after training at Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Queensland.

Colin underwent further specialist fellowship at the Odette Cancer Centre, affiliated with the University of Toronto, Canada, specifically focusing on prostate cancer and stereotactic radiotherapy. He was a consultant at Calvary Mater Newcastle in New South Wales from 2008 prior to taking up a consultant position at Perth’s Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital from 2013.

Colin was involved in the implementation of the first CyberKnife® Machine in Australia in 2014 and is one of the lead consultants providing this service to patients. An active member of several multidisciplinary teams, he is currently an investigator on several randomised trials, and on the Quality Assurance Committees for Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG) trials, Colin has multiple peer-reviewed publications.

A/Prof Joshua Dass graduated from Ireland and UK, completing specialist training in Radiation Oncology at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Victoria.   

He is a past examiner for fellowship exams and current senior clinical lecturer and examiner in medical school. Joshua is a member of the Particle Therapy Working Group for Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologist. 

Joshua is involved in national and local research trials and has been guest speaker in melanoma, sarcoma and prostate cancer symposiums and currently involved in quality improvement trials, investigator for Children’s Oncology Group, USA and TROG trials. 

Joshua subspecialised in the use of IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, IORT (Intraoperative brachytherapy for Breast), Brachytherapy, TBI, CSI, SABR including CyberKnife® as applied to skin cancers, head and neck cancers, breast cancers, paediatrics, lymphomas, prostate and central nervous system. 

Consulting from Perth

Dr Tiong is a highly experienced radiation oncologist. After completing her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of New South Wales, Dr Tiong established her oncology career at Singapore’s National Cancer Centre and National University Hospital in 2009. She returned to NSW to continue specialist training in radiation oncology at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney and The Canberra Hospital and was awarded fellowship to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2015. She then undertook a specialist fellowship at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada, where she further perfected her skills.

Dr Tiong has training in advanced techniques including stereotactic radiation therapy (SRS/SABR) with intrafraction tracking, MRI simulation, and image guided radiation therapy (IGRT).

Her clinical experience covers a broad range of solid tumour malignancies, with special clinical interest in prostate cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer, breast cancer, bladder cancer, gastrointestinal cancer and lymphoma.

Katie graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations) from RMIT University in 2012. Katie moved to Perth in 2013 to complete her intern year at Sir Charles Gairdner hospital. After becoming a fully qualified Radiation Therapist she continued working at the department for 8 years with a specific interest in research, quality improvement projects and education of both staff and students. She has a particular focus on patient care and her interest in Stereotactic Radiotherapy stems from her desire to provide the best possible treatment to patients.

Justin graduated with a Bachelor of Science from The University of Waikato in 2002 and went on to complete a Master of Medical Radiations specialising in Radiation Therapy from Monash University in 2007.  Justin worked as a Radiation Therapist for almost 13 years at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital where he held Senior positions in Treatment Planning, Treatment and Pre-Treatment.  He specialised in Frameless Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and went on to receive training in the United States on CyberKnife®-specific planning.

Justin has enjoyed dosimetry and treatment roles in several UK hospitals including the London CyberKnife® Centre within The Harley Street Clinic, The University College Hospital of London, The Royal Marsden Hospital Chelsea and The Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.

Rick studied Biomedical Science at Monash University in Melbourne before coming to Perth to complete a Masters Degree in Medical Radiation. Completing his professional development year at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, he worked there for 13 years consolidating an extensive knowledge in a variety of radiation therapy treatment and planning techniques from Brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, Linac Stereotactic body radiation therapy and Cyberknife.

With 10 years of radiation planning experience and a passion for technical advancement in this area Rick has been involved in numerous projects keeping up to date with the latest in technology to provide the best quality of care to our patients.
