5D Clinics has joined forces with Icon Group, Australia’s largest dedicated provider of cancer care, to expand access to the CyberKnife® robotic radiosurgery system — an advanced, non-invasive radiation therapy offering sub-millimetre precision.
Through this joint venture, new 5D Clinics centres will open along Australia’s east coast, starting with Melbourne in early 2025, to make CyberKnife® treatment more accessible for patients across the region.
Advancing precision cancer care
Established in Perth in 2018, 5D Clinics operates Australia’s only privately owned CyberKnife® system and brings extensive experience in precision radiosurgery. The CyberKnife® system uses real-time imaging and robotic tracking to adapt to a tumour’s movement, protecting healthy tissue while targeting even the most complex cancers.
Most treatments are completed in just a few short sessions, each lasting under an hour, with minimal side effects and no hospital stay required.

A partnership for better access and outcomes
Radiation Oncologist Associate Professor Colin Tang, Chief Medical Officer for the joint venture, said the partnership represents an important step forward in cancer care accessibility.
“CyberKnife® is a proven, non-invasive treatment with the potential to help thousands of people living with cancer,” A/Prof Tang said. “Our partnership with Icon will allow
us to open more 5D Clinics and ensure more patients can access this level of precision therapy closer to home.”
